Music 101: Redefining Subjective Sounds With Aaron Sturgill

Using a time signature of 7/8, 11/8, or 13/8 may be non- traditional but it sounds incredible and I was hooked from the outset. My old friend Aaron and I could of talked all day. So glad we got to have him on the show.

“Anyone who has been changed by music inevitably knows the power of what music can do in your life.”

Sturgill shared with me during episode 2 and I agree wholeheartedly because when it comes to music, no one can argue it's affect on your outlook and mood or the ability music has to help you learn to relate to your inner self.

The evolution of looping, life transitions, and what it means to tour well

The process of song writing according to Aaron

"Song titles on a google sheet labeled titles with hundreds of titles and related ideas. Pieces of music are formed by related older ideas with new thinking and creative experiences.

Music is an important part of life, success has been redefined and shifted becasue of real life experiences. Releasing entitlement was a huge stepping place."

People and Companies We Mentioned in the Show

Aaron's band Quorian is based here in Columbus, Ohio and the name originated from Neil Gaiman’s Sandman in which the quorian are a species of flower and uniquely interesting.

Needless to say the name fits the artist and has me amazed at his abilities and inspirational expression of self musically as well as many other ways throughout the years.
